Beauty or beast?

I'm no architectural expert, to say the least! I either like something or I don't. And this building-Adelaide House, home to Berwin,Leighton, Paisner- on the north side of London Bridge, is a wonderful building, in my eyes.

On le Buses!

Nthing to do with a French re-make of our comedy classic(!) but people demonstrating with one of our buses in Paris, in March 2008.

Berkeley Square, W1 (TWWSI)

I'm back from my recent trip to both Tallinn & Helsinki; though I fear it will be quite a while before you get to see some snaps from there!
In the meantime here are my latest ones for 'The Way We See It':

Well preserved

Not so much the remaining supports of this railway bridge over the Thames, by Blackfriars Station, where you can just see the dome of St. Pauls Cathedral behind,

But the old company crest, saved for posterity on the southern side of the water:

This says it all!

I saw this t-shirt in a shop window. Unfortunately it was shut, so I couldn't buy one.

Superb!

When I saw this last summer I had a smile on my face for ages...one of my favourites!

Art or scrawl?

Some 'graffiti art' is decidly unexceptional, whether in colour, or monotone. But what appeals anout it to me is how quickly it changes. Whether that's faded, covered over by more 'art', or simply 'vandalised' by those who see it as vandalism, and an eyesore itself. Which goes back to the age old question: 'What is art?'. (Or in my case 'What is a photo?' )

Strumming along the banks of the Thames

This was an open air art exhibition, from 2007. The theme being popular music-which isn't my forte-& guitars. Despite not recognising the themes on a lot of them I thought it was a superb display. There are regular open-air temporary events like this at this spot, outside the HQ of the Greater London Authority, by Tower Bridge. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did.
